Like most we obtained other companies quotes & the advice to take down a tree ranged from no returned call to something from the Double Glazing Salesman’s sign today handbook. ( & some even worse! ) I would say at this stage, some quotes were based on what they thought they could charge rather than the actual tree removal costs. Grant from Murdoch Wood came out the day we called, carried out a thorough inspection & even brought and put in place some strapping for the tree as we were pre Storm Amy. Remember this was before being asked to do the actual job. We received the quote and were happy to proceed. Keeping in mind the inspection was Friday & it was Storm Amy weekend, he pulled some of the guys from other jobs and the tree was taken down on Wednesday. The guys themselves ( like Grant) were ultra professional, incredibly friendly and worked like a machine to get the job finished. By the end you could not have guessed the tree or the guys had been there. Sorry, we can’t give more than 5 stars, however Murdoch Wood Ltd were like the old style business. Incredibly professional, very reasonable quote for the work required and all carried out above and beyond. || Jon Stout: Grant and his team removed a huge tree from the field beside my house which was well within reach of falling onto the house. After hearing about their great reputation I didn’t think twice about choosing them for the job. Great communication and completely reliable. They even got in touch with the land owner before going ahead with the job and left the tree in sections on site as requested. I’m sure I’ll be using them again as theres some more big trees in my garden
